Prabowo’s Visit to the U.S., February 18-19, 2026.
President Prabowo Subianto attended a business summit in Washington, D.C on February 18 held in his honor by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the US-ASEAN Business Council, and the U.S.-Indonesia Society (USINDO). The President’s delegation included several cabinet members. KADIN and APINDO also attended.
At the Business Summit, Indonesian and U.S. companies signed an estimated U.S. $38.4 billion in trade and investment MOU’s. At the Business Roundtable, President Prabowo shared his views on Indonesia’s development and his priority programs.
At the Iftar Dinner, President Prabowo shared a personal moment, reflecting on the legacy of his father, distinguished economist and former Minister of Finance Soemitro Djojohadikusumo. Through his advocacy with U.S. opinion makers, Professor Soemitro was instrumental in securing Indonesian independence from the Dutch. He shaped Indonesia’s economic foundations. He also served as founding Co-Chair of USINDO, as mentioned by President Prabowo.
During the visit, Indonesia and the United States also entered into the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade, signed by Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer.
