Video of USINDO’s July 13 Webinar on Renewable Energy in Indonesia: Opportunities and Challenges to Meet Climate Goals
On July 13, USINDO hosted a special webinar on Renewable Energy in Indonesia — the first event in our 2021 Three-Part Open Forum series on Climate Change issues. Our distinguished panel featured:
- Satya Widya Yudha, Member of Indonesia’s National Energy Council (DEN)
- Dr. Dadan Kusdiana. Director General of New and Renewable Energy at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM)
- Dr. Darmawan Prasodjo, Deputy President Director of Indonesia’s State Electricity Company (PLN)
- Dr. Kelly Sims Gallagher, Academic Dean and Professor of Energy and Environmental Policy at the Fletcher School; and Director of Climate Policy Lab.
Our panelists reviewed Indonesia’s current energy context and described plans to increase the share of renewable energy in Indonesia’s energy mix as part of its pledge to achieve net carbon neutrality by 2060.
This was a fascinating discussion deepening public understanding of these issues, in parallel with the accelerated work of the two governments toward these ends.
